Insight on the Atlanta area?

Anyone on here live in or near Atlanta? Making a move with my wife and kiddo in the next two or so months. California has been the focus so far, but the job prospects there are sucking big time. Never been to the area but heard good things about Atlanta. Yay or nay?

I lived north of the city in Alpharetta back in mid 90's. Great area. Lived near country club of the south which is where all the sports stars and celebrities lived. Used to see someone almost everyday getting a bagel One thing Atlanta has is traffic. Lots of traffic. And tons of beautiful women!!!!!!

I had a job offer in Atlanta about 6 years ago and spent 2 weeks hanging out and house shopping. Fell in love with the area, nice homes for half of what they cost in Seattle. The job didn't work out, but we had decided that Atlanta would have worked for us.

Thanks for the input so far. If we were to move to Georgia, it would ONLY be in Atlanta or the immediate surrounding suburbs, such as Alpharetta. Any areas in particular that are nice and in close (i.e. 30 minutes or less) to Atlanta? Areas to stay away from?

I love living in Atlanta. Awesome city with a lot to offer and many great areas. Other than Alpharetta I would look at Sandy Springs, Roswell, and Buckhead if you want to live close to town. Great car community as well.

Find a home on a "Peach" road or street and you will be fine. =)

Sandy Springs is looking pretty good. Plus I think the huge car meet is in Alpharetta, also on the north side of the city.

Roswell GA is a cool ATL suburb. My cousin lived there a few years ago and i spent a few days there chilling out with him. Lots of cool spots to eat and the houses were SICK for the money. Buckhead area is also super nice.
