Just fired up a Punch Serie D'Oro No.1 UK Regional Edition 2008. Supposed to be great (with a price to match). This is my first try with these.

 

I'm in Vegas this week, just picked up some rocky patel decade torpedos. I'll have a report tomorrow if I manage to get out somewhere to smoke.

 

If you're in Vegas, then you should go by the Fuente Shop at the Venitian and pick up some Casa Fuentes. See if they have the lanceros.

Not gonna be near the strip this trip. Didn't end up smoking the RP's last night as I only had an hour to hang out. Thursday I'm going to this cigar lounge though:

 

Well, turns out the man cave won't let you smoke your own sticks and doesn't have alcohol. I had the RP's and one of my students turned out to be a cigar guy and gave me a couple of Alec Bradley Tempus maduros today.

Went to a local's spot on the westside of vegas, chicago brewery. Cigar lounge upstairs with a bar and food. Perfect.

First the Alec Bradley. Good initial rich flavor, doesn't mellow out much, definitely what you'd call full flavored. Smooth, but a medium/heavy draw. Both my friend and I were a bit light headed at the end. Good but I wouldn't make it an everyday smoke. Had this with a local brewed stout which was a good match.

The RP next. After the heaviness of the maduro this initially tasted very mild. After a few pulls it turned out to be medium bodied with an almost sweet flavor. Medium draw and I think (after my previous la aurora experience) that I'm a fan of torpedoes. This was just a really good cigar, highly recommended.

Tonight reminded me of why cigars are cool. Mellow out, smoke, sip on drinks and have great conversation. Awesome way to end a week of work in Vegas.

 

just finished off a La Gloria Cubana Serie R #6, this is becoming my favorite smoke, just bought a box of them and loving them
