Wine Opener

Our last one broke, and the ghetto one that we got from the wine store for free just had me spill a bunch all over the kitchen.

Does anyone know of a good wine opener? Don't really have a budget in mind.

Thanks.

Excuse the unsophisticated, but why is this stuff better than those electronic thingies that sucks the cork out of the bottle?

Our last one broke, and apparently I suck at uncorking.

BTW, we drink mostly Italian stuff, Brunello's, pigmento's, etc.

^^I've never used the electronic stuff so I don't have a comparison to provide. The Laguiole stuff is very well built and will literally last forever. I'm into that stuff so it works for me. It does handle a cork much better than a "regular" corkscrew but at the end of the day they do the exact same thing.

I always found the electric corkscrews and all the fancy crap tends to increase the chances of breaking the cork or messing something up.

As Tuuner said, the Laguiole stuff is built incredibly and will be the last corkscrew you ever buy. Don't buy from that site though, you can find them for less.

I showed the Laguiole to the mrs, and I think she is intruiged.

We might be buying one for us, and one for the MIL as Christmas present...

Call me cheap, but I found Costco's wine opener to be very convenient and easy

Swiftpull. I've had mine for almost 5 years and it works great.
