I've said it before, I'll say it a hundred more times: Porsche should do a limited run (maybe in 2015 to mark the 50-year mark since production stopped) of a "new" 356. They should use the old bodyshell, modern powertrain, limited (read minimum) safety features, and sell the hell out of them. It wouldn't need to be super-expensive, but knowing Porsche, they'd charge $200K a piece.

That is one of the best ideas I've ever heard. I bet regulations would prohibit such awesomeness in every way possible though.
