Please school me on 993
As they say, everyone should dream. I caught the 993 bug recently from a friend of mine who sent me pics of a salvaged one he was thinking of picking up. To be honest, I had the bug for a very long time, but never knew exactly what it was or the fact that 993 was actually someone affordable for me. I always called them "The cool 911 before the current looking ones" heh. Currently I have an E30 thats my winter beater and an E36 which is the track toy. I don't need a practical car because I have access to many different cars if I need it. Anyway, I been thinking about getting a 993 some time down the road. I am graduating college in May so I would say I would start looking for a 993 in the summer.
Can you guys please school me on do's and don't in the world of 993? What are the most desirable options, what things I should watch out for? I would say that realistically my budget would be in the low $20Ks, may be $25K.

I am very well aware of the "there is nothing more expensive than a cheap exotic/luxury car." However, I have been looking around and it seems like its possibly to get a driver's car for around $25-30K. That being said, I think if I wouldn't mind paying that much for a good car. But I will not pay $50K+ that some low mile cars are listed on ebay for.

Sloan has a great inventory, but their prices are quite inflated. However they can serve as a ledger of where the market is at. I'd fine something similar to what you like and expect to find it for ~15% less from a private sale.

WOW they have quiet a selection! But miles are low and prices are HIGH. I am thinking something along the lines of this one http://showroom.auction123.com/auto_...0LS451181.html

No problem. These cars actually came off the line nose to tail (sequential VIN's).
Turquoise blue in the 20,XXX mile range; paid in the mid 40's I think

Black in the 40,000 mile range; paid upper 30's (don't mind the wheels, bro was just bored)
