^According to the book "McQueen's Machines" by Matt Stone, the 1970 was registered to McQueen's production company, Solar Productions. He sold the car off soon after it was shipped to California.

We're splitting hairs at this point. All I was getting at is that are two different "McQueen" early 911Ss in slate gray. His personal car, a 1969, and the "movie car", a 1970, which he used whilst shooting Le Mans and kept for a short time afterward.
