914 compete restoration to better than new
Hey all, big 914 family here. My dad still owns his first car, a '71 914 modified to high hell. Anyway, he inherited a '73 914 from an old friend that passed and it was in pretty bad shape. It ran (barely), but as you'll see from the pics, the body was in really bad shape and he wanted a lot more performance wise, so we've decided to pony up for a complete restoration done by the guys at Stalltek who are pretty much the best in the business.
The car is currently at Stalltek now getting all the body work done. Here are some pics of the tear down and resto up to this point.
As we got it (the red one; silver is the '71):

Tear-down begins:
The car was in pretty bad shape and was neglected for the last 10 years+.

Engine bay was a disaster

More rust

As the car sits now, all the ziebart has been removed from the floor plan and wheel wells, the engine compartment has been completely remade and they are making progress on the driver and passenger longitudinals.
Here is the start to the work on the passenger longitudinal. You can also see the all new engine compartment. I'll try and get better pics of that later.

Making sure all the clearances are 100% original

Making more progress. Also, you can see the engine compartment work

Looking good so far

Passenger side longitudinal finishing touches
