You're forgetting about the 718 RSK and RS 60. Although I don't think they'd be included in the list right?

Don't know what the designation will be for the 2011+ Cayenne
Are you sure they change to 957 for the second generation of Cayenne?

Porsche haven't changed type number before when they just lunched a facelift.
They usually just calls it "Generation II" like, 997 Gen II or 987 Gen II.

Besides, all part numbers I've ever seen for Cayennes (-2010) starts with 955.

They shouldn't be included in this list.

When Porsche was to lunch the successor to the 356 they decided to start with new project-numbers. From then on they use project-numbers from 900 and onwards.

But naming the 356 successor 901 got them into trouble with Peugeot... But I'm sure you know that story.

Anyway, cars before 1963 have lower type-numbers than 901 and aren't included in this list.

Here's a great site that has a lot of the early Porsche project-numbers.

Oh I see (yes I know the Peugeot story). So you're only including the "900" model Porsches?

With the new one being 958, the second generation (2007-2010) of Cayenne might actually be 957, as kevin9 said. I know that several tuning-companies (including Gemballa and Rinspeed) referring to it as 957.

Still, Porsche hasn't changed type number when they just lunched a facelift before.
