UrQuattros are problematic? I assume you guys mean electrically. It was quite ahead of its time in terms of that awesome lady shouting at you. Maybe she's just getting old and grumpy, causing owners all kinds of relationship trouble.

But, mechanically? No way. In the history of mankind, not once has a 5 cylinder Audi engine broken down. And there's absolutely no quattro system ever in automotive history that has broken down. Ever. You could be running tractor wheels on one side and monster truck wheels on the other and it would just .... work.

LMFAO!!!! 18k?!? thats 964 money!! ud have to be dropped as a child to pay that
You have to see the car. If your not into 944's I'd suppose not. There is no way you could find a 964 in concourse condition with this many miles for 18k.

You're kidding, what happened to it?!?! I can't even begin to count the number of Audis my family has had for the past 40 years, and looking back on the 5 cylinders in particular, not once did anything mechanical happen to it.

Some of them have been passed down to young cousins and friends, and I still know where a handful of them are. Everything electric is broken on all of them. Except for the engine and the 4WD.

In fact, I had my A8 in for an oil change last month and the service guy I know there has been working with VAG cars since the early 50s all over the world. He's the one who told me that you could search the service records since they first introduced them digitally in the 90s, and you wouldn't even find a work order for a 5 cyl being rebuilt

u wouldnt need to if its a college car, u can beat and neglect a 964 to no end and they will keep on going, besides the fact they are so much more fun then a 3.2l carrera/944/sc/etc.... and yea i wouldnt call myself a 44 guy lol

oo it was awful, but it was fast and i was young lol, it died for good after i gave it to my buddy, something went in the tranny i believe, but we had both dropped way too much at that point lol, pulled the head blower and computer and junked it.... granted it was modified but not excessively, mostly cooling problems, had to rebuild the top end, a bunch of lines, cv joints, etc.... def worst first car in the history of the world lol

Haha more of a coincidence really, I just like several German cars of that era. I've always had expensive tastes...might as well add this one to the list.

As for urQuattro's, that was more wishful thinking than anything else. They're a ton more expensive and rare than 944's so if I ever do get an urQuattro it will be later on in life when I have more money to buy and maintain one.

One thing is for sure and might help you decide - if you do get an UrQuattro, you will get positive rep from me and end up on my Teamspeed friends list . . .
