What Mods?
#2
1.) bolt on crap- headers, k&n filter, chip, etc... expect to not notice a difference, although they claim to make 900hp at the wheels, you could drive a stock one and a modded one back to back and not notice the diff except the noise.... ur approaching the $500-$3k range
2.)light mods- top end motor work(cams, light head work)... at this point u will begin to feel the difference and after some work you will actually need headers and exhaust and the package works well, the k&n is still completely worthless, the chip will begin to help.... ur approaching the $4-$12k range
3.) divorce mods- u start getting into head design, titanium valve train, custom cranks/pistons/etc, maybe ull go forced induction maybe not, right now we have a n/a 3.6 making 440, however there are hundreds of thousands of dollars in it, this route will likely lead to divorce :P.... this is 15k+ and depending on how nutty you go a very long time in development
moral of the story, if you wanna feel the biggest bang for ur buck, get better tires, recaro's or equivalent, and upgrade the suspension, if you wanna waste a few grand, buy exhaust and intakes and what not, if you wanna make a faster track car, go all but motor, if you want a faster street car, sell it and get a 964 Turbo and use all the left over cash to up the boost
edit: before the inevitable post of oo u can just put a blower kit on it and do nothing else, it would be a light mod.... ur right and u can chip and blower a 996tt to 750+ without doin the bottom end, but its gonna grenade, plain and simple...
