Anyone Own a 944?
#11
I had a 968 and it's the only car I've owned that has held my interest for more than 3 years. Fantastic car.
I was reminded about how good they are when a 1984 model actually put time on me (in the Cayman) in some canyons. I was freaking blown away that this little sh*tbox was moving the way it was. Light weight + balance + driveability = winning package

History has nothing to do with my comparison.
I like the Porsche flavoured Kool-Aid as well, but it does not apply to this instance.

Isn't that the Risky Business car??
What's better than when Tom Cruise outruns Guido The Killer Pimp and then mouths those legendary words:
"Porsche - there is no substitute."
Oh wait . . . That was a 928. My bad.

The problem with the 944 is that most people end up sinking 2 to 3 times the value of the car into bringing it up to snuff. That and it's sssssllloooooowwww. Even the turbo has disasterous lag, which is curable, if you drop more money than it's worth into tuning it.
