Shocks C2 versus Shocks C4

I need help from the tech. guys here!

Porsche offers two types of front Shocks (oem)for the 964.
One type for the C2 and another type for the C4.
Is there a difference between them? C4 stiffer than C2?? (weight)

Can't it hurt to mount the C2 shocks on a C4 that is lowerd?

Thx

I suggest asking the folks in rennlist that quistion. They have a very busy 964 forum and there's precious little that they don't know about the cars. Here most knowledge is about the newer cars! Good luck.

Without too much knowledge, shocks not built for your car sounds like the recipe for a horrible ride and I would definitely not recommend it. There are different shocks/springs for the C2/C4 for a reason - they are not built for your added weight.

I would suggest retrofitting the RS suspension. While I don't have too much experience with the 964 C4, I drove 964 C2 before I bought mine and you simply cannot comprehend how much better better the RS chassis is compared to the C2/C4. I have driven a LOOOOOOT of cars in my days, including some Manthey RS cars, and absolutely nothing, IMO, compares to the feel/agility of the 4RS. (Hop on a flight up here to Swedenland and I'll let you try it out!). I truly believe it's one of the best sports cars in the world (which is why I bought it - Walter Rohrl agrees with me) and installing its suspension is a step in the right direction!
