Paging ZAMIRZ . . .

. . . or someone who knows their aircooled P-cars.

Had my battery nearly drained (but not completely) and now the car won't start, even with a fresh battery. I just hear a very distinct clicking noise from the dashboard when I turn the ignition. Tick-tick-tick. God, I hate electric problems.

What could this be? Starter motor? Immobilizer going bonkers? I tried a spare DME relay - no difference whatsoever.

It seems this is pretty effective Jox. It's probably your best option...

I am actually semi-tempted to "pull a Giants" on the car, seeing as it's the first time in months where the streets are almost P-car driveable and it's completely dead! Old-ass ma'fuggin piece of junk. I should have bought a GT3.

Sorry to hear the news Maybe a rat got into your engine and chewed up some wires? Your BFF Mass might be able to shed some light on the issue.

Our Benz resisted to start quite recently and we thought the starter engine had past one as we recharged over night many times. So we had to tow it to a repair shop, but the repair dude tried with his own mega strong batteries and cables just befored he loaded it. Guess what happened? It started nicely. So it could be the same that your battery is super duper toast like ours was and doesn't matter how much you charge it. Try getting a new one, shouldn't be too expensive now.

My Mini started on the first try after being left over night in minus >20°C I wasn't sure it would, but it's got a strong will.

Yeah it's pretty much an invalid argument because 9 out of 10 times a dead or drained battery is the culprit and not the car.

But I couldn't resist saying it.
