After the pass, folks can only make assumptions. There are ppl who said Webber let off at turn 4 completely to let Vettel pass so as to avoid wrecking both cars and there is also the other camp of folks who believe Webber just did not have the pace.

There is also a third that claims Webber was instructed by the pitwall to not challenge Vettel again that it wasn't worth the 8 additional points.

Sure they can't say it's not worth 8 points. IF Webber had finished first, I think they would have been within a couple or points (or less) within each other in the WDC.

The both would of been on 33 with Webber in the lead due to winning a race on count back.

On Webber giving up the challenge, watch the Sky post race forum and Anthony Davidson shows you exactly when and how Webber ceded the position as he knew he would always be the one who got the blame had anything happened.. Webber opened up 1.5+s after the pitstop when Vettel attacked for the first time, he had the pace but thought the team had set the positions but then Vettel used the DRS zones to launch his second attack.. At no other time in the race he had the pace to challenge Webber really, when he complained about how slow Webber was in the middle of the race Webber was driving to the times the team set and was able to pick up pace pretty much straight away and extended the gap.

So after Webber conceded the position, why couldn't he have used the DRS to get back the place in the next few laps, just like Rosberg and Hamilton were doing. Guess the team probably told him to hold 2nd to avoid a repeat of Turkey '10

But anyway, guess Vettel can't expect Webber to do him any favors this year and Webber gets his mind right and moves to a team where he isn't a push over at the end of the season.

Of you watch the battle at the end of it vettel just pulls away on the exit of the final turn and pulls out a five second lead and don't quote me on this but I don't think he could catch him with drs + an ever growing gap

Webbers chops after the finish that was missed on most of the different TV feeds.
