The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters was back in action on Zandvoort circuit. A track that is known for its challenging corners and tricky weather conditions.
This Year was no exception with dry periods and showers, it was very hard to find the correct set up.

TrackandTuner.com was invited by Hankook, the main tire supplier, to take a look inside the DTM paddock. Hankook was very well organized and had set up a great Hospitality centre. Here we could drink, eat and talk to some of the riders like the winner of the 2012 DTM at Zandvoort, Edoardo Mortara.

This was our first time at the DTM, and we could tell its more relaxed than F1. But the pace and racing is from the highest level.
The race started with some light showers but all the riders decided to go on slicks, which in the beginning was tricky.
Eventually the track started to dry out and Rockenfeller had managed a small gap. But then a shower hit the track and most riders started to slow down except for Mortara who closed to the gap and passed Rockenfeller to win the race.

Just in the golden years, BMW, Audi and Mercedes are fighting it out on the track with heavy rivalry, close overtaking, these cars don’t come out unharmed. Especially the purple BMW from Priaulx who suffered from an earlier crash.

We had a great time and it’s definitely a reminder to visit the DTM more often, thanks to Hankook.
