Well, Day 1 is in the books. Christian and I left Seattle bright and early this morning. We flew from Seattle to Chicago, and then on to Indianapolis. I'm still amazed at how large Chicago is compared to Seattle and some other cities I've visited. Indianapolis on the other hand is pretty small with not a lot to do besides the Speedway.

Another day in the books! Today was spent wandering around the Speedway, checking out the vintage cars and walking through the garage area. We found a 1909 race car that ran the inaugural Indy 500! Plenty of photos from today and they can all be found here:

Like James said, it's late and we're beat! Today was a great day filled with some unexpected surprises, and tomorrow is looking to be more of the same. A full write up tomorrow after I get some sleep and regain coherent thoughts.

But for now, a picture from today of a guy who is guaranteed more tired than we are!

 

OK, time for a more lengthy update. First, I have to thank Graham and the IMS staff for everything so far. Getting in and setup at the Speedway has been almost as easy as pulling into my own garage at my house.
Thank you Graham for getting us the access we need while walking around the Speedway. With practices coming up over the next few days, we hope to get you some exciting pit action photos and photos of action on the track.

Today is our photoshoot with Graham's McLaren mp4-12c and CGT. We have a couple of beautiful locations picked out and the photos should be amazing!

Wow, what amazing access!!! And you got to do a parade lap on the track too!!! Soo jealous! But sooo glad you're sharing! Good luck to Graham and I can't wait to see the rest of your pics. Looks like you're having a great time.

Wow. What an amazing day! We started off at the track watching the Indy Light qualifying and then the Indy Vintage cars running a few hot laps around the track. We then headed to Graham's house to pick up his cars and head out for the photo shoot. Graham took the CGT out and I followed in the McLaren. We had the entire park almost to ourselves for the better part of two hours.

Here are just a couple of photos for now. Now it's time for dinner and then back to the house to work on the rest of the photos....
