Radical SR3
Thinking about picking one up. Anybody have any experience? I have always been concerned about the motorcycle engine durability long term.
Issues?
Maintenance costs?
I have some scca race experience and a bit more track time on track days with FE, SRF, Porsches, a vette and I currently own a turbo miata.
I really appreciate your help.

Such an efficient community!
Thinking about a radical is great but if you get a ride in one or drive one you won't be asking about getting one, you will be asking how SOON you can get one.
An SR3 is a real race car with two seats, full aero, eye popping brakes, 2+Gs in the turns, and quite quick. They are relatively easy to run and compared to other race cars, cheap. About a quarter to half of what a porsche cup car costs to race.
The 1500 engines are expensive due to the special parts that Radical designs for them but if you run a stock busa 1340 engine they are quite inexpensive. If you are not racing and concerned about the budget then you don't need the 1500. Also, if used in racing a refresh is needed every 30-50 hours on a 1500 and if you are just doing track days they could go north of 100 hours.
I am a big fan!
If 200bhp (140mph) doesn't satisfy your ego then getting a V8 is an easy move, 400+ whp (180+).

It is a blast! I am about 50 miles away, so yes I get out there more than once a month. Many guys come over from So Cal, it is an easy drive. Come on out and get a ride.
--and just realized I said the 1500 is 200bhp, wrong, it is 200WHP.
