Sutil drops appeal over nightclub incident

According to German media, Adrian Sutil has withdrawn his appeal over the sentence handed out to him following a nightclub incident with Genii Capital's Eric Lux last year, the latter having been injured by a glass during the 2011 Chinese Grand Prix event.
Sutil, who was dropped by Force India in favour of Nico Hülkenberg, was given an 18-month suspended jail sentence and handed a fine of 200,000 euros. The German initially disputed the decision, but has since conversed with Lux and eased tensions.
"I am very happy that I could talk with Eric Lux and not be brought to trial again," Sutil is quoted as saying by Bild. "I do not want to go through a year like the last one again. I want to do what I do best as quickly as possible, which is to race in Formula 1."
Sutil's manager was also delighted with the outcome, allowing for fresh negotiations to well and truly commence ahead of the 2013 campaign.
"We are very pleased that Eric Lux and Adrian have spoken and this topic is now closed. From now on we will concentrate on the sport and do everything that we can to get Adrian back in Formula 1 as quickly as possible."
The public prosecutor for the incident has also withdrawn her appeal, meaning the proposed 21-month sentence and 300,000 euro fine will no longer be sought-after.

You know Lux had to be shit talking and Sutil cracked him upside the head... F1 is a bit poncy, so I'm glad to see some of the ultraviolence. Can't wait for "Rush" to come out - the Hunt vs. Lauda epic. Now THOSE were the days.
