2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed theme announced

The Earl of March has confirmed next year's Goodwood Festival of Speed's theme - "Young Guns - Born to Win."

Tickets for the 2012 Goodwood FOS have gone on sale today, with the dates being confirmed: Friday 29 June - Sunday 1 July.

The FOS will celebrate the drivers, riders, designers and engineers of the automotive industry, who have risen to superstardom and firmly established their place among the elite.

Lord March has mentioned such greats as Bernd Rosemeyer and Mike Hawthorn, to Emerson Fittipaldi and Lewis Hamilton, Mike Hailwood and Valentino Rossi, to Henri Toivonen and Colin McRae - all made an indelible impact.

The 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed will celebrate the careers of the newcomers and those who not only disappeared just as quickly, but those who have stayed with us and left an imprint on our motoring psyche.

Next year promises to be enthralling with Lotus Engineering also celebrating its 60th anniversary.
