If allowed 40+ psi of boost, they will be 800+ hp.

Limited to 12,000 RPM???? That is horrible. I'm all for turbo's if they kept at least 15,000 but 12,000 is going to sound dull.

Turbos are great. The problem is with tiny displacement 4-cyl engines, stupid RPM limits, stupid budget limits, and so forth.

20+ years ago we had 1.5L V6s, and that was just dandy. But we also had 40+ pounds of boost, straight toluene for fuel, no practical rev limits (some teams could do 14k, some could do 18k), and no practical performance limits on the cars. And, surprise, the racing was amazing.

This won't be. Expect a bajillion engine failures followed by the usual slot car racing, only slower.

I was excited when the rumors first started about the return of turbochargers to F1......but with All teams being forced to run Only 4bangers is a let down. Too bad the teams arent able to choose between turbo 4, turbo 6, and N/A 8cylinder powerplants

They should go back to 1.5l Turbocharged engines like they had in the 80's give the engineers the overall size of the car, weight and fuel load and let them design the car to compete. No on board aids systems let the driver drive he car but make sure it is safe.

Bring back racing at it best in the 80's and 90's that when F1 was exciting to watch! We all remember how exciting it was to watch Senna climb through the gearbox with one hand going up the streets of Monaco.

Bernie has ruined F1 racing with all his greed he needs to leave the sport.

My biggest worry is that even with the world-class engineering involved into producing these smaller engines, there will still be a great loss in sound and the overall earth-shattering noises we've learned to associate with extremely high-revving F1 motors. Bernie surprisingly voiced his opinion well at one of the previous races when he said something along the lines of he'd only support these newer engine regs if they could maintain the sound and feel (for spectators) of the current setups. It's just a part of F1 that I hope never goes away.
