That's some serious coin right there. I heard that Schumi was the highest earner in sports ever...is that true? What was he making when he was winning all those championships? I think his net worth is around $100M or so, if i'm not mistaken.

Are their endorsements outside on-par with the likes of MJ and Tiger Woods?

At one time Schumi was the highest earner, now Tiger Woods is or is close to becoming a billionaire.

I remember before Schumi retired, there were reports that if he would have stayed around one more year and basically had a "retirement tour" that season (I believe the speculation was for Williams BMW IIRC)...between the salary and endorsement earnings he could have made close to $1B. Of course that was all just speculation, but the man was quite popular and still in his prime at the time of his retirement.

the salaries that are paid by the teams are a fraction of their total earnings, the amounts listed are peanuts to what they really rake in.

for what they do for a living its quite appropriate, the risk ratio is so much higher than any other sport

Way low. I think he was making that much in his last season.

Agreed. Schumi and Tiger Woods were neck and neck at one point on becoming the first billionaire athlete.
