While I don't make a habit of defending Lewis I really have to say that I am not sure why he was penalized for that. In fact, I don't believe that either driver should have been penalized as it seemed like an honest error where Hammy got on the brakes a little sooner than Alonso expected, and Alonso couldn't take evasive action quickly enough. Purely a racing incident.
If you are going to penalize drivers every time a little bit of contact is made, then you are going to make them less apt to take chances when an overtaking opportunity presents itself. This is bad for the sport and has to stop.

YES this noise was playing in my head!YouTube - the last jump of the general lee
BTW - from my recollection of Sunday AM Lewis was not zigzagging, like he has been known to. I think it was an honest misjudgment and if there is any fault, it is Alonzo. However, having a reputation for this sort of behavior, you definitely don't get the benefit of the doubt when this situation arises.

^ This. Bull crap penalty by the FIA. Tough not to hand out that penalty with Ferrari in your ear though. The 20 second penalty hurt Lewis but not Fernando. A 30 second penalty would have hurt both. Hmm?

Remember last season when that drive through penalty didn't hurt Lewis?
