Newey turned down offer from Ferrari - GPUpdate.net
Renowned Formula 1 designer Adrian Newey turned down an approach from Ferrari in order to remain at Red Bull last year, BBC Sport reports on Thursday. Having joined the Milton Keynes team in 2005, the Englishman helped lead the outfit formerly known as Jaguar to double World Championship success.
It is being reported that Ferrari approached the 52-year-old in the spring of 2010, with the Englishman having made the conscious decision not to switch to the Italian outfit before beating it to the title several months later.
"Of course, Adrian is one of – if not the – best in F1,” Ferrari Team Principal Stefano Domenicali told Gazetta dello Sport. “We often joke about the possibility but I have the impression that he’s happy in England and happy to stay at Red Bull.”
It is understood that Newey – who won his first title with Nigel Mansell at Williams in 1992 before switching to McLaren in 1997 - has since renewed his contract with Red Bull for another three years. It was also confirmed earlier this month that World Champion Sebastian Vettel will be staying with the team until at least the end of 2014.

it used to be the braun-shumacher-ferrari combo and it led to 5 straight back to back titles..
now the newey-vettel-rbr combo and the titles are starting to accumulate..
the morale of the story: if you want success in f1, pair a british engineer with a german driver
