The comparison pics are great. There's a lot going on in the front wing. I'd love to hear the engineering processes undergone to arrive at the final product.

They are indeed ugly, but improve cooling for the brakes and come closest to replicating the wheel fairings many teams used in 2009. The fairings assisted in creating a cleaner profile though were banned because they kept falling off cars.
