That's what I thought. Which is good because that way it's more racing and less destruction derby.

That's very much the way it is in ChumpCar but not quite as strict. They appreciate good driving but won't penalize you for putting a wheel or two off the track as long as you don't make a habit of it.

LeMons is much stricter--penalties are a huge part of the strategy and culture. Chumpcar gets away with more liberal policies because there are far fewer cars on the track. It's still no demo derby.

The fist few Lemons at Altamont Raceway were pure destruction derby as seen in my video. When they started going to real tracks like Thunderhill they had to tighten them up a lot...This made the racing way better and us drivers feel much safer. We never recieved a single penalty in any of our races and that says a lot about how crazy the first few races were.

LOL ya, one of my friends put a CRX on the roof within 5 laps of going out on Altamont I didn't start until Buttonwillow 09. Haven't been in any wrecks, but I've seen my fair share of noobtastic, idiotic driving.

I finally got back to the shop to work on the car today. I cleaned all the dirt, rubber shavings, and other crap out of the interior, installed the lights, and made a new bracket for a third hood pin to be mounted in the center of the hood to keep it from lifting in the middle at speed.

Next step will be to install some lightweight aluminum hood bracing to handle the weight of the lights, install the hood pin that I made the bracket for, make a heat shield to go between the headers and the radiator, and possibly a new paint job to make a potential sponsor happy.

Also, the format of the first race might change from two 7 hour races to one 14 hour race. I think that would be awesome since it'll really put the car and drivers to the test. T-minus 41 days to race day.
