Chumpcar probably has the best cost / payout ratio of any amateur racing series out there. We got a 3rd in one day of a two-day race and got 300 bux back. A win and you're ahead. If you get really short on drivers let me know, I'll come join ya =) I've been looking to race on as many different tracks as I can.
