Villeneuve hoping to return with own team - GPUpdate.net
Former Formula 1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve is hoping to return to Formula 1 with his own team. The 39-year-old from Canada was close to a comeback in Formula 1 with Stefan GP but the team was not granted a license to join the grid for this season.
According to German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport Villeneuve has applied for a place at the grid with his team 'Villeneuve Racing'. The German magazine believes Villeneuve and American company 'Cypher Group' are among eight other teams that wish to join the sport in 2011.
Formula 1 currently counts a total of 12 teams, but is hoping to welcome team number 13 for next season. A thirteenth team is expected to be announced later this month.
