McLaren wary of knee-jerk changes
From PlanetF1:

McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale has urged the sport's governing body not to make knee-jerk changes to the Safety Car rules following Lewis Hamilton's controversial second place in Valencia.
Fernando Alonso and Ferrari were outraged that Hamilton managed to finish second in the European Grand Prix despite being handed a drive-through penalty for overtaking the Safety Car. They felt the punishment didn't fit the crime
The FIA has confirmed that they will discuss the issue at their next Sporting Working Group meeting, but Neale warns that they shouldn't make changes to the rules after one incident.
"I think we should be wary of knee-jerking in the reactions," he is quoted on Autosport. "If history's taught us anything in rule-making in Formula 1, it's that lurching from one thing to another doesn't pay off. The rules are there.
"I think it was a close call on a number of occasions. Clearly we hesitated and got some things wrong, and had to take a penalty for it. Others were caught out by the Safety Car.
"But I think that degree of unpredictability - although sometimes it causes us to smart depending on whether you just luck in or luck out - some of that factor I think is good for Formula 1 and good for the sport. Whilst I don't think that Formula 1 should ever become a lottery, I do think that weather and the unpredictability of what happens with the safety car and can you call your driver in at the last minute or not..."

I absolutely agree. It's hard to keep things consistent for the drivers and the fans if the rules are constantly changed. The rules are the rules, and that's that. You can step up the efforts to enforce them, but don't go changing them every time someone on the Red Team starts complaining...

Get the fvck out of here with that. You would want Alonso's head if he did that to Hamilton. It was a BS move on Hamilton's part and the punishment did NOT fit the crime. You know damn well if Alonso did that, there would have been a far worse punishment. So you can sit right back down with that little opinion of your own.
Alonso has too much sand in his vag.

Hey, I thought that was a fair penalty. If the same had happened to Alonso or Vettel or Webber or whoever, it still would've been a fair penalty, imo. Sure Hamilton slipped up but if I were in his shoes and it was that close, I would've just gunned it too.
