By all accounts, my dad was a very mediocre student in grade school, who did a bit better in high school. His grades jumped when he entered university, and by the time he graduated from law school he was very near the top of his class at a competitive school. Now he's an AV rated attorney and a feared litigator.
My sister took a similar track. In grade school and middle school, she struggled. Now in a very competitive private high school program, she is flourishing, and (as she prepares to graduate) she is rising to the challenge and being actively recruited by a number of prestigious arts colleges.
I think Nico is the same way, and so was Prost (who drove only fast enough to win). At Williams, Nico really didn't have a car to win with, and the only thing he really had to do was bean Nakajima ... which was not such a task, I think, for most F1 drivers.
NOW, however, Nico's challenge is not only to win races with a leading team - but to beat the legendary Michael Schumacher at the same time ... and he is meeting that challenge.
Good on him - here's to Nico, and (hopefully) a few wins to come his way.

Here are my pre-race predictions, barring any kind of weather abnormalities or ferrari/mclaren/rbr car failure.
Nico will qualify no higher than 8th and will finish no higher than 7th

even if you're right, how is that fail?
