Formula 1 General and Team Speed Fantasy League Discussion Thread

I believe that the Fantasy Racers thinking was that - over the course of an entire season - the flexibility of the 40.0 M budget would make it worth giving up the extra 5.0 M in budget.
This could still be the case. For example, most 40.0 M budget players have Schumacher. He has not done well. Had he performed like people thought, they would really be running away with it. But now that he has pretty much stunk it up, they are stuck with him. This will really hurt when half way through a piss poor season MGP decides to throw in the towel and start working on 2011. They cannot drop him. The 40.0 M players can.
The only thing I am afraid of is that driver values will not increase quickly enough or in sufficient amounts to allow the 40.0 M drivers to take advantage of that strategy's flexibility. Right now, I could not buy a fourth driver and still be competative. But we are only 5 races in. Give it some time.
By half way, someone with a 40.0 M budget will have enough money to buy a quality 4th or maybe even a 5th driver. It might look something like this:
Alonso
Hamilton
Webber
Vettel
Kubica
Think of how kick ass that lineup would be. That could not have been bought with a 45.0 M budget at the start. And - obviously - cannot be bought by them now since they cannot change their lineups. But the 40.0 M budget players still have a shot at such a lineup. If that happens, the 5.0 M advantage at the start of the season will evaporate.
Time will tell.

Now that Bonita has revealed herself as "Bonita," it looks like Dana and the rest of you cretins are going to need a drool bib every time you post on TS

Yes. I realize that you beat me. You are helping me make my point.
You were spared the Hamilton heartbreak. But Massa let you down.
The big difference was that you picked the race winner. That will always give you 100 more points than a player that picks everyone but the winner.
Had Lewis finished second, I still would not have beaten you. I would have had 598 points to your 638.
Picking up Webber when you did was a great move and could really save your season.
You gained 1.50 in budget on that move.
You could not have done that if locked into the 45.0 M budget strategy.
Not only beautiful, but smart as well!

I have the $40 mil option... I'm third. I prefer the ability to change between drivers. I didn't change this weekend because I didn't have time. It would've cost me if in a way if I did change though, cuz I would've given up Button and not Hamilton. Just his luck... Next race Hami, you'll get your win

That would be awesome. It's my first year doing the fantasy league. I just have to be smart about who I'm sticking with. Monaco is going to be hard to decide.
