2010: The grid so far

Formula One news: 2010: The grid so far - GPUpdate.net Formula One

With Williams' long-awaited confirmation of Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hülkenberg having arrived on Monday, two more seats are now filled ahead of what is currently a 26-car grid in 2010. It is now possible that Nico Rosberg could effectively swap with the Brazilian by moving to Brawn with 2007 Champion Kimi Räikkönen being rumoured as a McLaren possibility.

With 2008 having featured not one driver change during the season, the line-up remained very much the same for 2009 with Sébastien Buemi being the only new face on the grid for the first race following David Coulthard's retirement and Sebastian Vettel's subsequent move to Red Bull. For 2010, however, only four drivers have so far been confirmed as staying with the same team.

The table below shows how the 2010 grid shapes up so far, plus possibilities:

Brawn GP

- Jenson Button likely
- Rosberg? / Räikkönen?

Red Bull Racing

- Sebastian Vettel
- Mark Webber

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes

- Lewis Hamilton
- Räikkönen? / Rosberg? / Kovalainen? / Heidfeld?

Scuderia Ferrari

- Felipe Massa
- Fernando Alonso

Panasonic Toyota Racing

AT&T Williams F1 Team

- Rubens Barrichello
- Nico Hülkenberg

Renault F1

- Robert Kubica
- Grosjean? / di Grassi? / Glock? / Kovalainen? / Heidfeld?

Force India F1

- Adrian Sutil likely
- Vitantonio Liuzzi likely / Fisichella?

Scuderia Toro Rosso

- Sébastien Buemi likely
- Jaime Alguersuari likely

Campos F1

- Bruno Senna
- de la Rosa? / Piquet Jr? / Soucek?

Lotus F1 Team

- Trulli? / Fauzy?

Manor Grand Prix

- Davidson? / Sato? / Klien?

Team USF1

GPUpdate forgets that Fisi was signed as Scuderia Ferrari's test driver.

^ This is Formula 1 and that could change very quickly. I could almost guarantee that Luca and Stefano are looking to get out of the deal with Fisi based on his performance behind the wheel of the F2009.

^^^Ferrari was using Fisi's car as a development mule so I don't think his job weighs too heavily on his race performance. But I heard he may be going back to Force India?

I think I read something about that too. either way it wont be a bad choice for Fisi. USGPE needs to hurry and pick some good drivers, and Kimi needs to sign with McLaren imo.
