For those who are not familiar with the Ortega Highway, it is about a 20 miles stretch of two-lane road that connects Southern Orange County with Lake Elsinor and the middle Inland Empire. It winds up over the pass of the Cleveland National Forrest, peaking at, oh, about 2500 feet above sea level. It is a rendovouz on weekends for motoenthusiasts. It twists, turns, and undulates as it winds up over the mountain and back down. The eastern flank of the mountain is quite steep and has a fairly spectacular view over the inland empire. Bikers from all over the country ride the Ortega when in the area.

At first, I figured this thread would be a joke. Maybe a picture or two and a story of a California lawyer who's been checked into F1 rehab for an unhealthy obsession with the sport. A few good laughs all around.

Needless to say, I feel horrible that's not the case. Dana, I'm glad you've managed to escape without any relatively major injuries. Someone was obviously looking out for you.

I wish you a speedy recovery, and I can assure you that you'll be in our prayers. Take it easy, enjoy the painkillers, and let us know if there's anything we can do to help you. We miss you, buddy!
