Motor racing-Ferrari will quit F1 if 2010 rules stand
Tue May 12, 2009 10:55am EDT

MILAN, May 12 (Reuters) - Ferrari will quit Formula One at the end of season if the sport adopts a budget cap for 2010, the Italian company's board said on Tuesday. "No F1 in 2010 if the rules do not change. Ferrari confirms its opposition to the new rules imposed by FIA and does not intend to register cars for the 2010 F1 world championship," a statement said. It's about time someone starts pushing back, Ferrari has the vast majority of the fans so they have a pretty good bargaining chip.

We have a pit stop forum btw .

As a long time Formula 1 fan, I support Ferrari. Bernie and his little gimp Max can suck it.

Ferrari is definitely on point with this one. I understand leveling the playing field, but they're doing that in spades with all the other regulations in place (I did support most of the changes this year). No single company contributes nearly as much to the sport of F1, and maybe all of motor racing than Ferrari does, and you can be sure that they will not be ignored on this one.

Hope it happens, and Ferrari goes back to sports car racing and perhaps a new open wheel series.

Lots of new faces in this thread - not to TS but to the Pit Stop. Welcome to the Pit Stop!

Rep all around (if I have any left).

Ouch!

I wondered why they were so late to the party on Ferrari threatening to leave F1. That is like 2-weeks old news.

The bad/good part about this is that I don't see Max or Bernie calling Ferrari's bluff.
