F1 News - What?? Refueling Ban for 2010

So now you can't refuel the car during a race in 2010.

Fuel loads have been such a big part of F1 strategy. I am not sure how much I like this. Pretty soon, there won't be any strategy left....

Could be kinda cool if it came down to just tire selections.

I guess this will put some pit crew guys out of a job. Just seems like a bad, politically driven decision that won't really help that much.

And why ban tire blankets??? Things are getting crazy.

Welcome to the world of Formula 1 gents.

Neither of the changes mentioned above ^ bother me. Strategies will not be thrown out the window.

will this be the only major motor sport to ban refueling?

There was a refueling ban in the late 80's or early 90's, iirc. The racing was still good then.

They will adapt. F1 is cutting edge technology.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

At last there will be no more "oh, I overtook you by stopping 3 laps later and leaving the pit lane half a second more quickly, take that, that's how extreme I am".

More driving prowess, less pit lane brain work strategy.

This is excellent.

Now if they could only ban radio communications it would be a real sport again.

I agree this will actually finally be able to be called racing now. What a concept that passing will take place ON THE TRACK and not in the pit lane, GENIOUS...

So are the races going to be shorter? I think part of the reason I don't follow F1 very closely is because the race takes so long and pit stops. MotoGP has been run without stops for a long time and it makes a great race from flag to flag. Zorro, I think you would really enjoy watching a MotoGP or WSBK race. No comm, no stops, just hard racing from flag to flag.
