This weekend, one of my friends told me he heard about an ice racing club that was having a race on a lake about 15 miles away from my apartment! Since I haven't shot anything lately, I figured I would load up my camera gear, throw on a few extra layers of clothing, and go freeze my ass off on a frozen lake for the afternoon. Boy, am I glad I did! I've never seen ice racing before but watching these guys slide their cars (most of which cost well under $2500) around on the ice within a few yards of each other was pretty damn cool!
