Thanks lads. Yes the lens is sweet, it hasn't been off my camera since the day I bought it. I love having such a razor thin DOF but it does take some (well a lot frankly) practice to use it right.

I love these types of lenses. I have the 85mm 1.4 and that one has a even thinner DOF but I still love it!

Keep those "boring" pictures coming...

I contemplated picking up the 1.4 because my usual camera store was out of 1.8's, a bit out of my price league though .

The shot above is straight out of the camera, no additional sharpening in photoshop. Just resizing and some fiddling with curves. Photobucket messed the quality up badly but I think you still get the idea. How much is a flickr subscription again?
