Not gonna take a proper camera. Just my 4 and the fhürers 4S. It's a bit of an experiment I guess. None of that hipster effect crap, just the normal camera function. Am I mad?

 

Well probably. Thailand has amazing views that would make for some great photos worth framing...but by bringing an SLR theres always the chance you focus on getting those pics instead of enjoying Thailand. So depends your personality. Either way, I'm sure your mad.

 

Take a little P&S just in case. You might regret it.

Yeah we've been there before but I'm finished fussing over photography. Maybe on the spur of the moment I'll pick up a P&S in Bangkok, might check out some prices online now.

I say take a camera. Doesn't mean you have to use it. Try to limit your use of it unless you see something worth breaking it out for. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

 

Problem is, when do you take it or leave it at the hotel. Then what if you see something but are too late to take a pic. then thats all you think about and will have it out the rest of time trying to make sure that wont happen again.

 

Be careful with your belongings, have a great trip!

I'm definitely burdened with camera gear from now on when I travel but I just try to keep it relatively "light" by limiting myself to only one body and one or two lenses on day trips. It's all insured so I dont mind leaving the rest of the gear in the hotel My thought is that it will be annoying lugging it around but I'd be even more annoyed if I came up on a photo op that I couldn't take advantage of without my stuff. A good point and shoot will fill the gap though. Some of my favorite photos I've ever taken were on a 5mp Canon point and shoot.

Actually the iPhone camera is so good now I rarely reach for the slr. I know that's a sin to the pros...I'm not a pro, just lazy.

Just unwrapped a macro/ fish eye lens for the iPhone. Crazy my phone can take this..
