The 10-24 looks like a fun lens. I haven't played with one at all tho.

Interesting... I pop on there when I want feature comparisons and seem to get pretty good basic technical info, but that's good to know. I guess maybe he writes reviews based on what he assumes it would be like given the specs?

Stuka, maybe you should try this lens I saw at a Civil War event I went to yesterday

Try looking at the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 Macro. It's great in low light and for close-up shots as well. It's my go-to lens on my D700.

Also, you won't get any distortion using a FX lens on a DX body. Using a DX lens on a FX body however is a no-no.

A good customer recommended this 18-200 to me. Said it was a very good lens for the money.
