Hey TSers, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any way to hook up an external microphone to a GoPro video camera? The audio quality is definitely sub par when trying to get engine noise on a moving car or stuff like that. The mic built into the camera just gets overpowered by wind noise unless you're only going 5-10 MPH so I'd love to be able to run a microphone into the engine bay or next to the exhaust or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use any audio recorder and sync them in Vegas or Premiere.

Or actually hack it with an extra audio input jack ... but that takes balls.

 

that is indeed a short coming for the gopro.

imo, a nano works better if you aren't looking for HD video.
