You can check a used 50d...its a very good camera..they have the 60d now..so...but dont have video...and full hd video like the 500d and 550d...its a nice thing.
That's the thing. I know it's a DSLR and all, and it's meant for taking pictures, but I just can't justify spending $400 on a camera (a used Canon EOS) that can't take video. Especially when this new generation of Canons can take such great HD video.

In America a 550d with the 18-55mm kit lens is around $850.

Not to mention spotting scopes, rifle scopes, ophthalmic equipment, loupes, monoculars, binocular telescopes, microscopes, laser rangefinders, cameras for microscopy, optical and video-based measurement equipment, scanners and steppers for the manufacture of integrated circuits and liquid crystal displays, and semiconductor device inspection equipment.

But Canon makes some sweet-ass inkjet printers!

Pretty sure Canon makes ALL of the said equipment as well, with the exception of the scopes/noculars.

And Canon doesn't need to use celebrities in all of their commercials.

"Oh, look at me... I'm using a Canon"

For fvcks sake you guys. This is turning into a dick-measuring contest. Both firms have equal strengths and weaknesses. It's not just the firm, the body or the glass, it's the person behind the camera that "decides" the quality of the photography and/or film. People have made awesome pictures with disposable kodak camera's.
