ah shit! Misread your post, thought you were asking for body only!

There again, many 60Ds sell for 899$ body only, and you can add a 50mm f1.8 (100$). But that's not going to be very versatile.

I did find a D5000 kit with lenses and case for about 700. I am kind of wary of used cameras, as my D50 is toast and it was used. Very annoying.

Really? Every camera I've ever owned was used or a factory refurb and they've all been great. Maybe it was bad luck just that once?

What he said - I just picked up a factory refurbished Nikon D90 body off of ebay for well under the going rate for a new one and it's fantastic so far. Came looking brand new and with no signs of wear or tear. Works just like it should.

loool I still enjoying the canon....not the best but..since I paid 390euros for a 500d with a 18-55mm and a lowepro bag and 4gb card....not bad at all....
