Polarizing Filter for Snow Shots

Polarizing Filter for Snow Shots
I am heading to Whistler in a month with some buddies. I am designating myself as group photographer/videographer. I am taking my 7D and my 70-200 2.8L IS. I do not have a polarizing filter right now. Will I need one for taking good shots in snowy situations.
We will be in a 50/50 mix of terrain parks and backcountry/heli skiing.
Here is the filter I really want but I am curious if the ND part of the filter will hurt for the photos I am going after. I am going to be using fairly fast shutter speeds and dont want to go much over ISO 400.
Singh-Ray Vari-N-Duo Polarizing Variable Neutral Density Filter
I want that filter because I need a good ND filter and I figure why not kill two birds with one stone.
If the ND will hurt me, can someone recognize a good circular polarizing filter for me to use.

I am pretty sure I will be the only one from my group heli skiing. I am going with some friend from Ole Miss (The University of Mississippi). They know how to ski but not at a level I would feel good with them with me heli skiing. If you want to join me I will gladly get some awesome pics of you hitting it.
Side Note: I grew up skiing in Denver and headed into the mountains most weekends. Until my sister and I were 14 my parents made us ski with an instructor everyday (Thanks Mom and Dad!). Growing up with that kind of instruction was very helpful as Beaver Creek has one of the best ski schools and instructors. I have been tele skiing for the last 6 years. I have never done too much backcountry on tele's, just back bowls, chutes, and stuff like that. I was planning on only bringing my tele skis to Whistler and using them on the mountain and in the backcountry for heli. Should I bring alpine skis too or will I been fine on my tele's?
