Adobe CS4

Now that I have the D90, I need to learn to use real photo software.

Is this a good deal?

buy Creative Suite 4 standard DVD Box from Adobe, 65019371

The whole CS4 suite may be a bit more extensive than you need. Photoshop will probably be a more than good enough start (although, they all have a steep learning curve).

That's a good deal... If you know anyone who are students they can get the Adobe products dirt cheap. You can JUST buy Photoshop CS4 as well.

I've been using photoshop and similar programs since I was 12 or so, waaaay before I even touched a camera... Made a career out of it for a few years in highschool.

I have CS4 and Lightroom. For most photos Lightroom is all I use. It's also a great catalog. Has most Photoshop features built in. You should check it out.

I second the vote for Lightroom. It's my "go-to" photo editing program and I highly recommend it.
