coz then you can go for higher end glass and upgrade your body after a few years
The lowest Nikon models (D40/D60) only accept the newest (AF-S) lenses but but the D50, D80, and D90 all accept every Nikon lens ever made from the late 1940's to now.

Thanks for the input guys, it looks like I'll either splurge and get a D90, or maybe just start with an XSi/T1i and get better lenses over time.

After thinking about it, I'm going to get the XSi (the T1i doesn't really offer much we care about) and save the money for better glass.

I think thats a good plan... From what I've read/hear its better to spend the money on Glass, then the Body.
