I keep seeing pictures of Chinooks in Afghanistan with the rear door open where a soldier is manning a machine gun. Does anyone know what it is? M2?

Ahh, sorry about that. I didn't mean to offend; most people don't know the difference, and it is my bad for not checking where you live.

. I have heard great things about the Pumas, but I never got to do any work in them. You should still be able to see the occurrence with some binos though.
