Only 80 units will be produced

Audi has announced plans to offer an R8 China Edition in the People's Republic.
Available exclusively in Malibu Blue or Suzuka Grey, the special edition has contrasting side blades, a carbon fiber rear wing and gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, there's leather / Alcantara sport seats, an Alcantara steering wheel and body color accents. The special edition also has an individually-serial numbered aluminum gear knob which will skip all numbers with the number four in them to "respect the cultural habit of Chinese customers."

Power is provided by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that develops 525 HP (386 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an R tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system which enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Production will be limited to 80 units, but there's no word on pricing.

Why is this based on the pre-facelift R8?

I really like it and my concern is rather: whyyyy do these markets always get these nice special editions?? i mean i know why, but I still want one over here
