If you dont need AWD there are plenty other cars that are more rewarding that you should cross shop. You've got the E92 M3 and C63 coupe both of which the S5 doesnt even compete with.

Even if you spec it right, Its a beautiful car but for the money you can get much better performance

 

I just got a 2014 S4 and I'm loving it. Perfect balance of sport and practicality. I went with the 6MT, B&O sound, and the sport differential.

Love the looks of the S5 but I need 4 doors.

Do it. I just got a 2013 S4 a few months back after ordering in April and I LOVE the car. If I didn't need 4 doors and a usable back seat, I'd have been all over the S5.

 

Honestly huge Audi fan here. But skip the S5. Go S4 or S6 if you can wing it.

I wish Audi kept the 4.2 V8 instead of completely replacing it with the blown 6.

I have the newest Q7 with the 6, and yeah it might have approx the same amount of HP. But still lacks the feel of the V8. Try getting a hold of an older S5 with the V8 and give it a try. Then compare it to the new one.

Pretty sad that there's not even the option of choosing the V8 anymore.
