HOW many years has that 4.2 been in production? 12? ...

 

The fact that I don't like about this car is that Audi is backing up on making it an hypercar. I would like to see what could they come with if there wasn't this "brand boundary". It seems that they will always keep it under the Gallardo in term of looks and performance. There are clear lines between Bugatti > Lamborghini > Audi


BTW those lights are so cool, hope they make it to the street car.

 

I have put over 17k miles since 09 on mine. Never liked a car more that Ive had.

 

Stoppie, that 4.2 has been in production since 2006. not quite 12. The 4.2 prior to the rs4's was NOT FSI, and i believe it had 5 valves per cylinder as opposed to the current 4.

 

This is only a facelift, but it's expected that the next generation R8 will mount the 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 instead the actual 4.2 FSI. The next R8 will arrive arround in the mid of 2015.

 

Thats quite an old pic that made the rounds on alot of forums several months ago...i think it was debunked as a fake...will try and dig up the thread that had info on it.
