That would be a correct assumption. Although I hear Ford might have something in the works to avoid it.

Stupid question: I thought due to the higher pressures in the DFI engines- that the fuel was atomized into smaller bits; thus resulting in a hotter and more even burn? If the DFI engines are supposed to be MORE efficient....

I am not at all familiar with Audi FSI nor do I claim to be, but the only two things I can think of are EGR, or somehow carbon is getting past the intake valves so I don't know if the timing of the spark event is playing a role or what. Doesn't make sense though.
Also wondering why I've asked this question two of three times with no response. Guess I will call one of the Audi techs this week and ask them.
