Thinking of purchasing a 2007-2008 S6. Need some insight

Hey guys,

I haven't ever owned a performance Audi but I'm thining of purchasing an S6 for a daily driver.

I was hoping you guys could give me the pro and cons of them if you've owned one or know someone who has. I've read some reviews online and they seem to be pretty reliable and can make some good power with minor mods.

Any insight you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

My use would be:
Daily commute of about 15 miles each way
mostly back roads
put on about 15,000 miles a year
don't have kids so don't need much space (other than for my golf clubs)
don't care about gas mileage really. I currently daily drive an '08 Cayenne S

thanks in advance,
Jason

If it's for a commuter, you'd be happier with a 2010+ A6 3.0T. Almost as fast, much better mileage. If you want something more fun, then get a used RS4. Trust me on this...

My neighbor has an 08 S6. He's had no complaints. I can't think of any drawbacks as long as you don't mind the gas mileage.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.

I looked into RS4's but they are really hard to come by around here. 3 for sale within 200 miles of where I live.

Gas mileage does seem pretty bad. but I have been driving less and less so I'm not overly concerned with that.

My father's got one that is almost a DD (he still has a Ford cliTaurus for junk driving) and he bought his CPO'd. He had a problem with a blown shock in the rear and that's it. He's taken it to NC twice and the car hasn't missed a beat. The engine is so smooth and just goes like stink for a car that size. I ran a Nismo 370Z and hoped that he saw the V10 emblem cause I'm not sure he knew what hit him. The wheels get dirty in a mile with dust but it's to be expected. Suspension is firm but perfect for the car.

Awesome car, have driven the S6 avant v10. It's perfect in every way, you can put a million miles on it as a DD without ever having problems.
I wouldn't buy a (higer mileage) 2nd hand A6 turbo for a DD because above 100k miles you can expect serious problems/costs, better get a large NA V10 if gas mileage isn't an issue!

EDIT: THE SOUND!!!!!!
